I'm fucking fucked.

I broke my reading glasses. The metal frame just finally blew. I want to cry. Seriously.

I wear my reading glasses constantly indoors, especially at home, especially for computer work, and put on the other pair, the long-distance-vision pair, to go outside. I can barely see what I'm typing right now without my reading pair, and less than 10 minutes with my long-distance pair on in front of this computer and I've got a headache.

I don't know how much it's going to cost me to get new glasses, I'll go to an optometrist tomorrow, maybe I can get a new pair of frames or something and get these lenses reshaped, I don't know. I need new glasses, my prescription has changed, but maybe I can put that off and god knows there's no way I can write the way things are right now.

They've sold my building and I have no idea if I'm going to have to move, I haven't started my very-low-paying job yet, and august is the traditional many-hundreds-of-dollars bill at the vet's office for my cats' teeth-cleaning, and let's not even talk about starting to pay back all these loans real soon now. This whole situation is NOT GOOD.

In lighter news

as I try not to squint -- I transported a WWII-era Filipino spear today from my friend's property management company (they were kind enough to hold it for a couple days after my friend moved out and left the spear behind, it's a family heirloom) to my home.

And yes, I *totally* had a "don't mess with the viking girl" moment, walking through the Boston Common with it over my shoulder, and then just standing there on the T with a spear. Even with the really nasty end covered. (The base is tipped, too, just not as long a blade.) Only two people stopped me to ask about it, but I got a LOT of looks.
