This weekend in a nutshell
Sep. 3rd, 2006 11:31 pmBought strawberries and mangos at the farmer's market, along with my usual eggplant, apples, onions, and potatoes. Yummy treat!
Reading environmental law briefs and opinions. Waterkeeper v. EPA, Mass. v. EPA (I've met one of the lawyers involved, he was at a symposium at the school), and the local Biolab case.
Watching DVDs and knitting. (Raglan sweater knit from the top down, using Wool of the Andes in the color "Fern". I've joined the v-neck and I think I'm about halfway to joining under the arms.) I watched all four of the original A&E Hornblower movies today. I think I've finally reached the point where I can enjoy them for what they are: a quite decent adaptation. No adaptation is perfect. Still don't like several things, but I've come to terms with Marie in "The Wrong War". ( spoilers )
Rain -- ergo, multiple accidents at the corner. It's not the safest of intersections in dry weather.
Eating Doritos for no reason I can fathom. I'm not a big Doritos fan to begin with. Don't know what the deal is. Some strange vitamin deficiency?
Speaking of, am thus far remembering to take a multi-vitamin every day. Taking my calcium supplements is much, much harder. (That statement is directly correlated to this one: the calcium supplements are much, much larger than a little rinky-dink multi-vitamin. I don't like taking pills.)
Made beans "Maine style" -- white beans, molasses, mustard powder, salt pork, onion, hot water. Bake in a covered dish for a few hours, replenishing the hot water as necessary.
Sent B's article to Journal's literary editor to distribute out for citation checking. (This article is also referred to as "my" article, or "the article I'm editing".) This will be the first article the new associates process. Guinea pig!
Meditated, very, very briefly. But still meditated.
