Vampires at the State House!
Jun. 21st, 2006 05:00 pmSo, I went to the state house today in Boston and donated blood. Beautiful building. I took the virtual tour (here) and then went through the Hall of Flags, Nurses Hall, and part but not all of the Doric Hall after I was done surrendering my life's blood this afternoon. (I saw the portrait of Lincoln and the bust of John Hancock.) I got all misty in the Hall of Flags -- no, not lightheaded, misty -- over all this history and gallantry, and I have to say:
I am so proud of my new state, Massachusetts. Massachusetts stands up for what's right, and that tradition extends all the way to today.
Anyways. I gave blood! Dang, I just keep racking up those karma points.
