The lady wasn’t cast from the same mold as Mrs. Shoben, that was for sure. Small, with that extra thickness that comes with age, and a bit of what Mitch’s great-aunt used to call a “dowager’s hump”. It was phrases like that that got Mitch hooked on libraries as a kid, wondering if a dowager was a kind of camel. Mrs. Pristouris’ dress was widow’s black and she wore dark, dark, Greek eyes that tried to look right through him.
