plans for tomorrow
Apr. 6th, 2007 12:43 amInternship
Software contract, around 3pm
Try to get to farmer's market before it closes to buy:
mushrooms
salad stuff
maybe bell peppers, for stir fry, if they have them
spinach
the cheese guy might even have feta
I don't know if I'd buy from the halal butcher (that's Muslim kosher, basically) right there or not. I try to avoid beef except from Whole Foods (no antibiotics, grain fed, etc.), and I don't know what the rules are in terms of where the animal comes from, if there are any. The Koran seems more intent on the freshness of the meat, how it is slaughtered, rather than how it was raised, and that's what I worry about.
ETA Friday afternoon:
I ignored the cheese guy b/c I spent money on fish. Then I bought an enormous quantity of spinach, some bell peppers, cucumbers, mushrooms, radishes, and parsley. Good stuff for salads and stirfy. I just ate a bowl of cuke slices and parsley, with oil and vinegar -- mmmm, cucumbers. I should have bought more. I love cucumbers.
