Nov. 20th, 2006 03:03 pmIs it too much to ask people to *do* their jobs with some sincerity and actual attention to the purpose of their job, as well as the defined tasks that comprise it? Is it too much to ask for some genuine thought?
Are we that self-absorbed as a society that it is too fucking much to ask a bus driver directions when you step off the bus, or a bank teller for help filling out an unfamiliar bank form? "It's not my job" -- no, maybe it's not precisely your job, but it's part of why your job exists at all.
I mean, come on.
I swear. Humans. We are so petty, some days.
[Note: my complaint has nothing to do with bus drivers or bank tellers. The last time I chatted with a bus driver, they were helpful and friendly. And the time before that. Etc.]
