Snowy, and update
Feb. 12th, 2006 12:40 pmIt's been snowing most of the day, and the low for my area is -8C, high of -3C. (That's 18F to 27F, for those who think in Fahrenheit.) About 10 minutes ago I succumbed to chilly fingers and turned on the heat in my bedroom. The blanket over my window doesn't seem to be as effective as it was last year. Maybe I should buy some corduroy or something, and make a really thick panel. But I like that the blanket is pale, so I get diffuse light through it.
It was pretty nippy last night -- reminded me of my childhood in AK. (I always kept the door to my bedroom shut, so it was far cooler than the rest of the house, even with the woodstove doing its job downstairs.)
I hope all the homeless have found shelters, I really really do.
In other news:
* 4-hour nap yesterday w/much dreaming. About being different places and falling asleep in them. Naturally, I couldn't get to sleep until almost 3am after muy excitement.
* Got an award for highest grades in one of my classes. And again for another class. Updated resume.
* Made more fudge. Seemed to turn out right. Will bring some to school during the week.
* Got letter saying "you made Dean's List". Trying to remember if got similar letter over summer.
* Fudge sent to a certain someone.
* Had deeply disturbing exchange with classmate, but think I understand better, now, what happened. Now am more offended than wondering if need to speak to security.
* Need to tell Galaxy Press if I'm free in April, May, and June for booksignings. Need to find out my finals schedule first.
* Talked with my brother, he's having surgery on his foot on the 24th for what is 99% likely to not be anything malignant -- apparently cancerous growths on people-paws are very very rare.
* Have been researching the history of some of the public projects here for a class, and am now getting interested in Boston history in general.
* Cat in lap. This should not be shocking.
