Regarding "the novel", working title The Divided Country:
There's probably a lot of inconsistencies, so I daresay I'm at the point where I need to print the whole thing out and read it with pen(s) in my hand, so that I can accost the work thoroughly. This is not a bad thing. I'm very pleased. Potential beta readers may apply here. :-)
Today, a little work on "When Elvis Went to Tenki", my Writers of the Future workshop story. It may be at the point where it needs to be read out loud so I can, again, accost the work thoroughly. Or, perhaps I'm full of it.
Always hard to tell.
Due to my computer meltdown of earlier this month, I have no idea where I put the list of writing things to work on. I know those were the top two. Here on this LJ? Hm. Let's find out. Ah. That would be 'yes'.
1. Novel.
2. Elvis alien story.
3. the abduction thing I was pondering this summer, or this idea.
4. whichever is the 'other' of the above item.
5. Re-write of 'The Ghost of the Old Theatre'. Though, that can probably fit into 'resting' periods throughout #1.
I did some of #5 during the school year, though I have to make a decision about the ending. Happy or sad? I can't decide. So. I'll read through Elvis out loud tomorrow, if I'm lucky, and then move on to the alien abduction thing, which is actually a what-happens-next based on the short story "It's the Smell", which came out in May at Peridot Books online magazine.
