trailing after
jcortese:
A is for Age: 35.
B is for Booze: Yes, please.
C is for Career: Ask me again in 2007 (when I have a J.D.). And then ask me again 10 years after that.
D is for Dad’s name: Which dad?
E is for Essential items to bring to a party: Sense of humor.
F is for Favorite song or music: You're serious? Just one song? Dona nobis pacem. If I can only pick one, that's it.
G is for Goof-off thing to do: Knit, crochet, tat, spin, READREADREAD, drink booze and watch something on DVD.
H is for Hometown: Don't have one anymore. Boston is auditioning for the role.
I is for Instrument you play: Voice. Computer. Lots of other musical instruments I play poorly.
J is for Jam or Jelly you like: Peach. Apricot. I like jams and jellies in general. I love tart fruits. Rhubarb, cranberries, that sort of thing. They should be put in more jams and jellies, which is why I bought a *LOT* of cranberries now that they're in (holiday) season.
K is for Kids: They all belong to my brother.
L is for Living arrangement: Still living, so far. Feel free to check back regularly, though.
M is for Mom’s name: Mutti.
N is for Name of best friend: Just one?
O is for Overnight stay in a hospital: Not that I recall, though I'm told I was in a respirator as a premature baby.
P is for Phobias: Hm. I'll have to think about that.
Q is for Quote you like: "Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul." Khalil Gibran,
The Prophet.
R is for Relationship that lasted longest: Depends on the kind of relationship. I have some going on right now.
S is for Siblings: One twin.
T is for Texas, ever been?: What, to that puny little state? I mean, why would I bother? Actually, I avoid Texas for my health, after mouthing off like that I'm liable to get shot. (Actually, I avoid Texas and other parts of the 'south' of the U.S. for my health, really. I am not a desert creature.)
U is for Unique trait: Out of box thinker, synthesist. I see patterns in everything, connections between *everything*. But I'm not shizophrenic like Mr. Nash from "A Beautiful Mind". And, I can see the big picture and the little detail picture at the same time.
V if for Vegetable you love: The humble yet versatile onion. Potatoes. Garlic. Ginger. Soybeans. Those are all vegetables, right? Any kind of bean made into a paste and stuffed into a bun. Celery, though I rarely eat it. Chives. Fresh carrots. Radishes. Cabbage. Fennel. Various squash. Leeks. Green beans -- day in and day out, I eat a lot of green beans with my potatoes and onions. And garlic. I like winter vegetables more than summer vegetables, I think. Beets are a winter vegetable, aren't they?
W is for Worst trait: I *really* want people to like me, and I'm always afraid they don't. This makes me uncomfortable in 'small talk' situations (cocktail parties), prone to work too hard to keep co-worker's and supervisor's approval, and vaguely surprised that people care about me as a person when they do. It's my 'issue', and I wouldn't be surprised if it's deeply connected with the absence of a certain parental type at a critical time in my life. I'm slowly getting over it.
X is for X-rays you’ve had: Some chest x-rays, a few dental ones, also, one hip and a knee. Oh, I had a CT once. Or, I think that's what it was. It was big, it enclosed me, and I had to "hold very still". I believe I relapsed into unconsciousness at that point.
Y is for Yummy food you make: Bread, among other things. I can
cook.
Z is for Zodiac sign: I'm a metal dog.
