One week from tomorrow is the last day of studying.

This weekend and today I tried to emphasize essay stuff over multiple choice (which translates to the Mass. state exam over the multistate national exam) and I guess I did OK but then I look back and think, Sid, you suck, get it in gear. I re-read a lot of material (civil procedure, federal jurisdiction, agency, UCC sales, 93A [consumer protection statute], and I'm not done for tonight, as I'll go through the material on either commercial paper or secured transactions before bed.

Sid, you suck, get it in gear No, no, no! No negative vibes, dammit!

The thing is, I know me. What I need for the essay exam is to practice writing whole essays. I said that in a post before. So, that's what I was aiming for today, disconnecting myself from issue-spotting, and getting towards writing-the-whole thing. I made decent progress. None of it really works unless I know the material, so I've been re-reading stuff, and then doing essay questions in that area. I think that's good, and I'm going to do more of that tomorrow, and then Wednesday I'll take a day-long practice multistate exam again, and then try and get closer to this essay-writing groove I can almost see, lying in my future. Gotta know the material, and not write so fast I skip shit. That's how I bombed on the Civil Procedure midterm in first year, and I don't want to make that mistake this time. There's much more at stake.

In a nutshell, the bar exam is all about plodding.

And now, I'm going to go flip a coin and start re-reading either commercial paper, or secured transactions.
